Fossils of the Flood is a first-person open-world discovery game set on London’s post-apocalyptic South Bank, transformed into a vast tidal beach. Players explore a moody, low-tide landscape where illuminated artefacts reveal layered histories. Informed by Alenda Y. Chang’s Playing Nature, the project prioritizes contextual honesty through site visits, 3D scans, and research into local trades. Built using Blender, Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine, it combines environmental storytelling, education, and interactive exploration while encouraging player-led discovery and engagement throughout.
