Hi, I’m Oliver, a fourth-year MSci Architecture student at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, currently completing my ARB Parts 1 & 2 as part of my course. I grew up in Medway, Kent, and am now based in London.
I’m interested in how we can make better use of what already exists. With so much of our built environment already in place, I’m interested in working with existing buildings, materials and local resources rather than demolishing and starting again. I’m particularly interested in how architecture can work with the communities around it, and how thoughtful reuse can create something new while retaining what is already valuable.
Making is an important part of how I work. I enjoy using the workshop and building simple physical models, particularly in paper, to test ideas, understand space and map out concepts. I’m proficient in Rhino 3D, Blender and Unreal Engine, and enjoy moving between physical and digital methods of making to develop and communicate ideas. I’m also proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
I enjoy working with others and learning through the process of making and discussing ideas. I’m a quick learner and enjoy picking up new skills, especially when they give me another way to approach a problem or develop a project.

Work Experience
Competition Entry for Volume Zero:
I am currently working on a proposal for an accessible tiny-house community for older people moving from London to the Kent coast. Based on the repurposing of a holiday park in Whitstable, the project looks at how underused seasonal infrastructure could become affordable, low-impact permanent housing. I am exploring compact, mobility-conscious homes alongside shared gardens and communal spaces, with the aim of supporting residents’ independence while creating a stronger sense of community. The project has also involved understanding Whitstable’s coastal context, transport links and local character, alongside my wider interest in sustainable and socially responsive design.
Freelance Book Cover Designer:
I have published 5 book cover designs, for Routledge, Edinburgh University Press, and Westminster University Press.
Assistant Photographer at Fast2Foto:
Before starting my degree, I worked in photography, working with a wide range of clients from individual headshots to large corporate events. This taught me how to work well with others, communicate clearly and adapt to different people and situations.
Photography has also influenced the way I approach architecture. It has given me a good understanding of light, perspective and composition, and made me more aware of how a space can be viewed and experienced.
